Congratulations to the newly-formed 72nd Seaforth Biathlon Team, who successfully competed with over one hundred other cadets at the Zone biathlon competition at Whistler Olympic Park this past Sunday. Everyone gave terrific performances, delivering one podium win (3rd place) and three 4th place finishes. More importantly, everyone gave their personal best and demonstrated excellent teamwork. For a brand-new team, a higher performance could not have been expected.
The six cadets prepared for the competition with team outings to Cypress Mountain in December and January, supplemented with personal training at home and on the mountain. Those who had never been on biathlon skis before learned quickly. Those who had previous experience, honed their skills.

The team also created their own team logo, using the Seaforth “Hector” stag as inspiration for a deer-on-skis design. It was such a creative concept that CP Gear awarded it 2nd Prize in their recent “Design Your Own Patch” contest.
The team is off to a strong start and we’re looking forward to getting even stronger on the months ahead. Congrats to all the team members on their performance. Enjoy these images from competition day:
